DHAKA: The High Court granted four weeks anticipatory bail to three leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), including its president and general secretary in a case filed over an alleged attack on law enforcers.
An HC bench comprising Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Kazi Md. Ejarul Haque Akondo on Monday (Nov 4) passed the order.
Barrister Kaiser Kamal move for the bail petition to the court while Md. Zaheer Uddin Suman, Rokonuzzaman Shuja and Ghulam Aktar Zakir assisted him.
Deputy Attorney General Fazlur Rahman Khan stood for the state.
The three leaders are - CD president Fazlur Rahman Khokon, General Secretary Iqbal Hosen Shyamol and former General Secretary M Akhramul Hassan.
Earlier on October 14, police have filed a case against over 50 activists and leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) including its president Fazlur Rahman Khokon and general secretary Iqbal Hosen Shyamol for an alleged attack on law enforcers.
The case was filed with the Paltan Police Station under Special Powers Act on Monday.
According to statement of the case, the accused allegedly launched an attack on police before the start of a rally of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at Nayapaltan in the city on October 12.
