DHAKA: BNP got permission for holding a rally in the capital marking the ‘7 November’, Party’s Assistant Organizing secretary Advocate Abdus Salam Azad told Banglanews on Wednesday (Nov 6).
The rally will be held at the Mohanagar Natya Mancha in the capital on Friday (Nov 8), he added.
Abdus Salam Azad also said he and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie met with Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday (Nov 4) noon.
On November 7, on the occasion of 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day', we sought permission for holding rally in any of the three places of Dhaka on November 8.
On that day, he said that he would talk to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner and make the decision. We met again with Monirul Islam on Wednesday afternoon.
“Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam instantly gave directives to concerned DC. We asked for permission to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, in front of the Nayapaltan party office or the Mohanagar Natya Mancha of Gulistan. The DMP has allowed us for holding rally at Mohanagar Natya Mancha”.
The BNP has been celebrating November 7 as 'Day of Revolution and Solidarity'. In the meantime, various programs have been announced marking the day. As part of this, a mass rally is planned in Dhaka on November 8.
