JU: Abu Sufian Chanchal, general secretary of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) resigned from his post.

Ahsan Habib, office secretary of the Central BCL, confirmed the matter of the resignation of Abu Sufyan Chanchal on Thursday.

The Central BCL office secretary told reporters, "I received his resignation letter last Tuesday and handed it over to the President and Secretary. I think personal reasons may be shown in the resign letter. After decision on it, it will be made public through press release.

Abu Abu Sufian Chanchal did not receive the phone calls despite multiple attempts to contact him. 

JU unit Chhatra League president Jewel Rana told Banglanews, "I don't know anything about it, the central BCL also has not told me anything."

Chanchal had been staying outside the campus since August 28. Since then, he has not been seen in any program of JU BCL. According to media reports published on August 23, VC Professor Farzana Islam has allegedly given Tk 1 crore to the JU BCL.

From where, Chanchal got the money of Tk 25 lakh. But Chanchal then denied the allegations to the media.
