DHAKA:  Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy does not want to join central leadership of the party now.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader told a press briefing held at the AL president’s Dhanmondi political office on Friday (November 15).

Obaidul Quader said: “It is matter of Joy’s interest.  When the leader (Sheikh Hasina) is asked about this, she says Joy does not want to come. He has no interest in joining (politics). Our party’s president is Sheikh Hasina, this is her decision. Joy is always there. I keep telling the leader again and again about Joy’s grooming. It is leader's decision.” 

Obaidul Quader also said: “Joy wants to be just the way he is now. He does not want to hold any office officially in Awami League. For example, demand was raised to nominate him for Pirganj, but he did not agree. You can ask him, when Joy arrives in Bangladesh.”
