DHAKA: A Dhaka court granted three days of bail to BNP Vice Chairman Maj (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed and Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saeed also granted the bail to Moqbul Hossain on Thursday (November 28).
Police arrested BNP Vice-chairman Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed from high court area of the capital on Thursday (November 28).
SM Shamim, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ramna Zone) said arrest was made at around 1:45 pm.
He also said Hafiz Uddin was shown arrested in a case filed over charges of vandalism and assault on police while demanding release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday (November 26).
A case was filed with Shahbagh Police Station against 500 BNP leaders and activists including the party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Some leaders and activists of BNP staged demonstration and sit-in programme on HC premises on Tuesday afternoon demanding the release of party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Apart from clash between BNP men and police, the agitators allegedly vandalized several vehicles on the road
