DHAKA: The voting in the executive committee elections of Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) is underway on Saturday (Nov 30).

The voting started around 9:00am at Sagar-Runi Auditorium of DRU office in Segunbagicha in the capital and will continue till 5:00pm without any break.

A total of 1,635 voters are expected to cast their votes.

Rafiqul Islam Azad, former DRU vice president and Special Correspondent of the English daily The Independent, Shahnawaz Dulal, Special Correspondent of Bbarta24 and Shariful Islam Bilu, chief correspondent of the daily Ajkaler Khobor are contesting for the president post.

All three candidates competing for the post of general secretary previously served as the organizing secretary of DRU for various terms. They are - Riaz Chowdhury, Nurul Islam Hasib and Sheikh Muhammad Jamal Hossain (Sheikh Jamal).
