DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said his party will announce names of its mayoral candidates for elections to Dhaka south and north city corporations on Sunday (December 29).

Obaidul Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, came up with the announcement while talking to reporters after attending a meeting of the party’s local government nomination board at the Prime Minister's official residence Ganabhaban on Saturday evening (December 28).

AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting.

Obaidul Quader said names of candidates for the posts of mayors and councilors will be announced at 11 am on Sunday (December 29.
