The self-proclaimed politician Bobby Hajjaj, the son of controversial businessman Moosa Bin Shamsher, has emerged as the vocal critic of the government with an ulterior motive.
According to sources, his actions and biting remarks on facebook and other digital platforms against myriad good deeds of the government suggest that he is allegedly engaged in a deep-rooted conspiracy to unseat the government and destabilise the country.
As part of his plan, he is continuously making statements criticising Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.
Hajjaj has targeted the person at the helm of affairs and two important members of the cabinet to serve the purpose of anti-liberation elements.
Hajjaj always tries to abuse the country’s critical and sensitive time to fulfill his hidden agenda.
Ahead of the last parliamentary polls, he became mysteriously active in the field of politics, but failed to achieve his political gain.
Targeting the corona sensitive period, he has again become active and is issuing statement criticizing the performance of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and questioning the budget.
He also made indecent comment against important members of the cabinet to malign the Awami League government.
Late Jatiya Party chairman HM Ershad’s sometime adviser Hajjaj has launched the new political party National Democratic Movement (NDM) to be used as a tool for implementing the hidden agenda and sabotage.
Imbued with the spirit of his war criminal father, Hajjaj is involved in the politics of anti-liberation party Jamaat and its student wing Shibir.
He inherited love for anti-liberation party from Moosa Bin Shamsher who is facing war crime investigation.
Hailing from Kazikanda village under Faridpur’s Nagarkanda Upazila, Shamser and his son are both linked to controversial and subversive activities.
Apart from being an arms dealer and money launderer, Moosa has a dark twist.
Faridrpur’s freedom fighters say he collaborated with the Pakistan Army during the Liberation War.
A number of books and local media have shed lights on the controversial role in 1971 of the man who is sometimes referred to as ‘Prince of Bangladesh’.
Moosa started manpower export business during Ziaur Rahman’s tenure with Shahbaz International, later renamed DATCO Group.
On March 29 in 2017, the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 started a preliminary investigation against controversial businessman Moosa bin Shamsher into his alleged involvement in wartime crimes.
“We have received allegations against him [Moosa] and started a preliminary investigation for quite a while,” Sanaul Huq, coordinator of the investigation agency, said on March 29 in 2017 at a press conference at their Dhanmondi office in Dhaka.
The investigation is pending as the country is busy addressing some other issues, especially Covid-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic impact.
Recently, Hajjaj is spreading anti-government rumour through social media. Sources said he is trying to instigate students of a private university to take stand against the government as he was a teacher there.
At a time the government is struggling to address the socioeconomic impact of corona and save life and livelihood, Hajjaj is criticising such noble efforts mysteriously.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been globally acclaimed for addressing the critical situation better than anybody else. Finance Minister unveiled a budget to save all sections of people.
The government has allowed investment of undisclosed money to revitalize economy and prevent money laundering. Hajjaj is criticizing the decision as he and his father have no contribution to national economy. They are involved in money laundering.
Hajjaj is also maligning the corporate houses which have stood by the government and the vulnerable people.
Bangladesh has become energy sufficient during the three consecutive terms of Awami League government. Privatization of energy generation was key to success.
However, Hajjaj has preferred a dirty way of criticizing all innovative and praiseworthy decisions of the government to weaken the country’s effort to fight corona and thwart economic growth.
He is making anti-government statements and posting videos on the facebook, YouTube and other digital platforms.
People and security analysts said the government should immediately block his facebook and video channel to save the country and its people.
