DHAKA: Ailing Awami League presidium member and former home minister Advocate Sahara Khatun was taken to Thailand's capital Bangkok for better treatment.
An air ambulance carrying the Awami League leader took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 12:30pm on Monday (July 6).
Upon arrival in Bangkok, she was admitted to Bumrungrad Hospital Advocate Sahara Khatun's nephew Mujibur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Sahara Khatun has been suffering from fever, allergies, and some old age related health conditions. She has been undergoing treatment at United Hospital for the past few weeks. On June 26, she was shifted to intensive care unit of the hospital for the second time. Her condition remained unchanged since then.
Advocate Sahara Khatun has been an elected member of parliament for the Dhaka-18 seat for the last three terms.
