The police halted the march programme organized by various cultural and social organizations protesting the killing of students and mobs centering the quota reform movement.

On Tuesday (July 30) around 3:30 pm, the police stopped the procession from Zero Point (GPO Junction) in the capital's Gulistan to Bahadur Shah Park in Old Dhaka.

At that time, after some argument and push and shove with the police, the cultural workers sat down on Golap Shah Mazar Road of Zero Point. 

Later, they started chanting slogans at the police saying ``Khuni Khuni'' and started protest by songs.

Around a hundred members of the police has been stationed centering the protest, reports our correspondent.
