The full court meeting that was scheduled to involve all the judges of both divisions of the Supreme Court, has been postponed today (Aug 10).
Shafiqul Islam, public relations officer of the Supreme Court, confirmed the matter this morning.
It is learnt that the chief justice had called the full court meeting for 10:30am to discuss how to manage the court’s operations in the current situation, among other issues.
However, before the meeting, Asif Mahmud, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, termed the chief justice a "friend of fascism," demanded his resignation, and issued an ultimatum to cancel the full court meeting.
