At least 12 workers were injured following an explosion at a shipyard in Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila on Saturday (September 7). 

Two units from Kumira Fire Service are working to extinguish the blaze caused by the explosion.

The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Police sources said the explosion occurred around 12:00 pm in the pump room of SN Corporation's shipyard, which then led to a fire. 

Firefighters arrived promptly after being alerted to the incident, he added.
