Umama Fatema, spokesperson for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement that led the July Uprising, has announced her resignation from the organisation.
In a Facebook post on Friday, she alleged widespread irregularities in committee formation at district and Upazila levels and vote manipulation during the recent council session.
Umama claimed she faced pressure to stop working independently and said the movement had turned into a “business.”
She expressed deep disappointment, saying, “It has been incredibly painful to watch everything fall apart before my eyes.”
