Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain held a high-level meeting with Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Director-General Dr Salim M. AlMalik at the organisation’s headquarters in Rabat on Tuesday during his official visit to Morocco.
Adviser Asif Mahmud praised ICESCO’s work in education, science, health and culture across Muslim-majority countries and highlighted Bangladesh’s strong focus on youth development.
He proposed setting up an Islamic Culture and Language Centre in Bangladesh with ICESCO’s support and sought help to implement ICESCO’s Smart Classroom projects in Bangladeshi schools.
Dr AlMalik welcomed the proposals, commended Bangladesh’s climate action efforts, and expressed interest in involving Bangladeshi youth and experts in ICESCO’s global programmes.
He also proposed expanding Bangladesh’s microcredit model in African member states.
Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in the future.
Later, the adviser visited the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at ICESCO headquarters and expressed hope for a similar museum in Bangladesh.
