The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), is being observed across the country today with due religious fervor and state honor.
The government has declared a public holiday, while mosques, Islamic institutions, and various organizations are holding prayers, discussions, and cultural programs highlighting the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings.
Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus extended greetings, urging peace, unity, and devotion to the Prophet’s ideals. Bangladesh Television, Betar, and national dailies are airing special programs.
The Islamic Foundation is leading nationwide observances, including Quran recitations, Hamd-Na’at, seminars, and competitions. A four-day seminar is underway at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, alongside preparations for a month-long Islamic Book Fair from September 13 with 200 stalls, including international publishers.
Special programmes for students and children, as well as food distribution at hospitals, orphanages, and shelter homes, are also taking place. The day is being observed at Bangladeshi embassies abroad.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have been put on high alert to ensure smooth and peaceful observances across the country.
