The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (July 2) forecast rain or thunder showers with lightning and temporary gusty winds over parts of the country in the next 24 hours starting from 9am.

According to a Met office bulletin, light to moderate rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty wind are likely at many places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. 

Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in parts of Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country, the bulletin added.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature was recorded at 35.5°C in Feni under Chattogram division, while the day’s minimum temperature was 24.3°C in Tangail.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:50pm today and rise at 5:15am tomorrow.
