The government will provide a monthly allowance of Tk 20,000 to each family of those martyred during the July Uprising, as per newly approved regulations, Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam, Bir Pratik, announced on Monday (July 21).

Speaking at a press conference titled “Initiatives for July Fighters and Martyrs' Families of the July Uprising” at the Press Information Department’s conference room in the Secretariat, the adviser outlined details of the state support package.

According to the new scheme, ‘Category A’ July fighters will receive Tk 20,000 per month, ‘Category B’ fighters will receive Tk 15,000, and ‘Category C’ fighters will be entitled to Tk 10,000 monthly.

The adviser also said that the government will spend a total of Tk 14 crore 67 lakh 80 thousand each month to cover allowances for both the families of martyrs and surviving July fighters.

Also present at the briefing were Israt Chowdhury, Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, and Md. Nizamul Kabir, Principal Information Officer of the Press Information Department.
