DHAKA: BNP Standing Committee Member and ex-minister Mirza Abbas was shifted to BIRDEM hospital from Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

His wife Afroza Abbas alleged police created obstruction at the time.
He was admitted to BIRDEM at about 4pm amid the impediment. His treatment was going on in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Earlier, he was admitted into DMCH as he fell sick following his arrest during the 27 June hartal.

BNP’s women wing’s vice-president, Afroza Abbas informed that diabetic level has risen in his blood. “He has been taken to BIRDEM to ensure better treatment,” she said.

She alleged that his physical condition has been deteriorating for two days. “But hospital authorities have not taken any step for better treatment.”

She demanded immediate release of her husband.
