A Dhaka court today placed former State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder on a five-day remand in connection with the murder of Anwar Hossain Patwary during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam passed the order as police produced him before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-day remand.
Kamal Ahmed was arrested on October 19 from Gulshan and has since been shown arrested in multiple cases.
The case, filed by the victim’s father, Al Amin Patwary, states that Anwar was shot dead in Mirpur's Golchattar area on August 5, the day the Awami League government was ousted amid student protests.
