BAGERHAT: Police on Sunday held district Shibir president Ibrahim Hasan from Dashanir Pocha Dighirpara in the town while holding a clandestine meeting.

Detective Branch of police arrested Hasan from the residence of Jamaat leader Advocate Wadudur Rahman in the morning.

Bagerhat Police Super Khandaker Rafiqul Islam said on information that a secret meeting was being held for creating anarchy on the mourning day, the DB police raided the house and arrested Ibrahim Hasan.

But, the rest managed to flee the scene, he said.

District Jamaat condemned the arrest of Hasan and demanded his immediate release.
