DHAKA: BNP senior leader Moudud Ahmed said their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not bow down to anyone for her release (from jail). If not through judicial procedure, she will be freed through movement.
BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed on Friday (October 4) was speaking as a chief guest at a discussion, organized by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal, at the Jatiya Press Club demanding Khaleda Zia’s release.
Moudud said Khaleda Zia was convicted in an ungrounded case. So far, not a single witness could specifically say as to where Khaleda was convicted in the case. No signature of hers was found in any documents. The case was filed out of political vengeance.
It’s not possible to free her without a spontaneous movement. Khaleda Zia will endure more sufferings in jail, but she won’t make any compromise with this current regime. I, therefore, urge everyone to prepare for movement, Moudud also said
Moudud further said Khaleda Zia is almost 74-year-old. She is very sick. She needs specialized treatment. She is supposed to get bail within 7 days. Even, death-raw convicts are getting bail. Many lifers have got bail from High Court, but not in the case of Khaleda Zia. This is because the government doesn’t want release of Khaleda Zia.
