DHAKA: A Dhaka court granted bail to BNP Vice-Chairman Hafizuddin Ahmed on a Tk 10,000 bond in a case filed against him under the Digital Security Act over ‘anti-state propaganda’.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam on Sunday (Oct 13) passed the order rejecting the remand petition filed by police.
Pallabi Police Station sub inspector and also investigation officer Nure Alam placed the BNP leader before the court with a seven-day remand petition.
Earlier on Saturday, BNP Vice-Chairman M Hafizuddin Ahmed has been arrested in Dhaka on charges of running propaganda against the state.
Hafizuddin was arrested at Shahjalal International Airport on that evening, family members claimed.
Col (retd) Ishaq Mian, chief of BNP Chairperson Security Force, was also arrested under the same case.
