DHAKA: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) expelled deputy law secretary of BUET unit Amit Saha for his involvement in the Abrar Fahad murder.
BCL President Al Nahean Khan Joy and acting General Secretary Lekhok Bhattacharjee issued a press release in this connection on Monday (October 14).
According an investigation report, made by BCL 2-member probe body, it is evidenced that though Amit Saha was not present on the spot during the time the incident occurred, but he was involved in it through conversation in social networking site, the release said.
BCL, therefore, expelled him as allegation brought against him has been proved, the release also said.
Amit Saha is a 16th batch student of civil engineering department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
He is one of the accused in BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Amit from Dhaka’s Sabujbagh on Thursday.
Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET, was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7.
He was found dead on the staircase of the dormitory early Monday.
The deceased’s father filed the case with Chawkbazar Police Station.
