Road crash kills cop, injures 2 in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: A truck rammed into a CNG-run baby-taxi in the city’s Dampara area early Tuesday, leaving a police sub-inspector dead and two constables injured.

The deceased was SI Mohammad Ferdous Ahmed, 32, hailed from Laksam upazlia in Comilla district.

Injured constables Mohammad Shaheed, 28, and Mohammad Azad, 34, were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

The dead and injured policemen were attached to Chandgaon Thana under Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).
 
SI Zahirul Islam of Chittagong Medical College police outpost said a truck crashed into a three-wheeler carrying the policemen near a CNG filling station at Dampara at about 3:30am, leaving three seriously injured.

They were rushed to the CMCH where the on-duty doctor declared Ferdous dead.

The truck driver and his helper managed to flee the scene with their vehicle.
