CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong Court Thursday summoned three top BNP leaders, including Secretary-General Khandaker Delwar Hossain, to appear before it on September 23 in a sedition case for their “threatening” speeches against the Prime Minister.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Chittagong Keshab Chandra Roy passed the order after taking into cognizance the complaint—the latest one in a row.

Earlier, the sedition charge was filed against them on August 4 for making threatening speeches against the Prime Minister and “conspiracy” against the government.

The magistrate ordered sending the summons against the accused for their appearance in the court, accepting the complaint after hearing.

The two other opposition politicians sued are BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Vice-Chairman Shah Mozzem Hossain.

District Court Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Nikhil Kumar Nath said, "The court has accepted the charge against them as case."

Rangunia upazila Chhatra League president Badiul Khair Chowdhury Liton filed the charge on August 4.

It was said in charge statement that the three accused leaders gave `clear death threat to the Prime Minister` at a protest rally on July 25.

Besides, banglanews24.com.bd

Sirajganj district Awami League Publicity Secretary Helal Uddin lodged the complaint with the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate of Sirajganj Nila Karmaker.
