DHAKA: Criticizing government’s plan to arrest BNP chief, party joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday categorically said detaining Khaleda Zia would be the funeral of incumbent government.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the comment through a press release issued at noon.

He further said ruling Awami League government stupidly thought the movement would stop after the detention of BNP chairperson.

“But, they forgot, blockaders are still on the street despite gunfight and crossfire,” he added.

The BNP leader also alleged that AL has turned the Jatiya Sangsad into its club where the lawmakers attack members of Zia’s family with offensive words.

He also criticized Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, cousin of Sheikh Hasina, for attacking Khaleda Zia with abusive words.

Rizvi also claimed Selim, who once blamed Hasina for extortion, demanded BNP chief’s punishment publically to please his sister.
