DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has urged the nation to participate in the ongoing movement for the sake of democracy.
A statement signed by BNP vice-chairman Selima Rahman, made the disclosure on Thursday afternoon.
According to the statement, everyone is involved in the prevailing protest programs for the restoration of democracy through a free and fair national poll in the country.
The movement will continue until a logical consequence is achieved, the statement added.
It also claimed that BNP and its alliance people are being tortured and arrested by the law enforcers. However, the BNP chief thanked the party leaders and activists for their sacrifice and continuous involvement in the movements.
The statement further said that the incumbent government is afraid of the movement of the mass.
For that reason, the government has become dependent on law enforcers, it added.
