DHAKA: The fifth JS session of the 10th Parliament that commenced January 19 will continue till April 2.
Earlier, the first session of the year was scheduled to end on March 12.
Before the next budget session, another session was scheduled to be convened, said sources concerned. But Parliament Secretariat is going to arrange Budget session after the ending the fifth and current session followed by a break.
Parliament secretariat sources said President Office sent a proposal to Prime Minster’s Office (PMO) to end the session on March 4. But the prime minister gave her opinion in support of continuation of the session.
Regarding the matter, deputy speaker M Fazle Rabbi Mia told banglanews: “So far I know, the session will continue till April 2. After March 12, the session will adjourned till March 22 and will continue till March 25. Later, it is to be adjourned till March 29 and will end on April 2.
He added general discussion on thanks giving motion on President's speech is going on. Many members of parliament are yet to join the tanks giving motion and they will have to give chance.
At the beginning of the session, the President has delivered his speech based on government activities highlighting development works.
