NOAKHALI: Police recovered a Jubo Dal leader’s body from South Deliai village under Chatkhil upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as M Israfil, 25, president of Jubo Dal Kashipur ward unit and son of Makbul Ahmed of Kashipur village under Laxmipur Sadar upazila.

Police said a group of miscreants abducted Israfil at gunpoint on Wednesday night from near of his house in the village.

Later on Thursday morning, locals spotted the body of Israfil in the area around 9:30am and informed police.

Confirming the matter, officer-in-charge (OC) Nasim Uddin of Chatkhil Thana said they recovered the body and send it to Noakhali General Hospital for autopsy.

However, deceased’s family claimed that Israfil was killed after abduction.
