DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said no decision has been taken yet on dissolving the current central committee of Chhatra League amid speculations that the party chief has ordered to dissolve.
"Prime Minister also Awami League President Sheikh Hasina might have outrage over some matters of BCL," he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on US Ambassador in Dhaka Robert Earl Miller at the secretariat Sunday (September 8).
News and posts have been taking rounds on social media since early hours that Sheikh Hasina, at the joint meeting of Awami League Parliamentary Board and Local Government Election Nomination Board at Ganabhaban Saturday (September 7), ordered to dissolve the BCL committee out of discontent at its President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani
"No such decision was taken in the meeting. We could have hold talks in inside there but it was not decision shaped," he said.
While asked about whether the prime minister has expressed outrage at BCL activities, the bridges minister declined to make any comment:
"I won't agree with these until any decision comes or is implemented," he said.
