DHAKA: The fourth session of the 11th Parliament has begun at 5 pm on Sunday (September 8). Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury chaired the session.
At the beginning of the session, the condolence motion was placed at the death of former President Hussein Muhammad Ershad, leader of the opposition parliament and Prof Mozaffar Ahmed, adviser to the Bangladesh government during the Liberation War, leader of the left progressive movement, former parliamentarian and NAP president.
As per the tradition of the Parliament, a discussion was started on condolence motion adopted for Ershad as a member of the current parliament.
Earlier in the session, the Speaker announced the name of the Presidiums.
The presidiums are Vice Principal Abdus Shahid, Enamul Haque, Mrinal Kanti Das, Kazi Feroz Rashid and Jaya Sengupta.
During the fourth session, the presidiums will preside the parliament session, following the absence of the Speaker the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
The fourth session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will continue till September 12.
