DHAKA: Speaker of the Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has nominated Raushan Ershad as leader of the opposition and GM Quader deputy leader of the opposition in the 11th Parliament.

This was stated in a gazette notification signed by senior secretary of the parliament Dr Jafar Ahmed Khan On Monday (September 9).

Earlier on Sunday (September 8), a delegation of the Jatiya Party met at the Speaker's office at the Parliament House after the fourth session was adjourned last night. 

At that time, the party had proposed the name of Raushan Ershad as the opposition leader and GM Quader as the deputy leader of opposition in the parliament. 

The delegation, led by GM Quader, met with the Speaker to inform her about decision of the party.
