GAZIPUR: Road Transport & Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said he expects the upcoming by-polls to Rangpur-3 constituency will be a fair, flawless, good and competitive one. 

Jatiya Party and we have nominated candidates; BNP is also participating in the polls--he reasoned the expectation.  

Obaidul Quader, also the minister for road, transport & bridges, was talking to reporters while inspecting the innovation project of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Tongi Bazar area of Gazipur Tuesday (September 10).

He welcomed BNP's recent decision to take part in all elections including the local government and national ones. 

The Election Commission (EC) will be given all-out support on behalf of the government, so that it can discharge important and independent role, said the minister.

Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Mayor Jahangir Alam, Roads and Highways Department (RHD) Dhaka Divisional administrator Sabuj Uddin Khan and Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Police Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain, among others, were present.
