DHAKA: The Supreme Court rejected the bail appeal of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.

The full bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain issued the order on Thursday (Dec 12).

The SC bench also directed to provide Khaleda Zia biological treatment, if she agrees.

Earlier, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam informed the court about Khadela’s medical report.

Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan stood for the ACC. Lawyers Khondakar Mahbu Hossain and Advocate Zainul Abedin moved for Khaleda Zia during the hearing. 

Meanwhile, the pro-BNP lawyers shouted at the entrance of the courtroom as police and administration did not allow all of them at the courtroom.

Security was beefed up at the entrance to the apex court.
