Inu’s ‘no’ to political consensus

DHAKA: Rejecting any possibility of political consensus, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday said any discussion would not be held with the political villains.

“There may be a discussion over the trial of the killers after they surrender stopping violence,” he said.

The minister came up with this assertion while addressing a book launching ceremony at RC Majumdar auditorium of Dhaka University in the city.

Pointing at the initiator of ‘National Dialogue’, Inu said, “You said to discuss with the terrorists who torched many vehicles. It is not possible.”

He said, “The discussion on the trial of terrorists will be held after their surrender. Later, another discussion will be held on other issues.”

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has gone ‘insane’ for assuming power, the minister commented.

Prominent writer and journalist Anisul Hoque, Dainik Bhorer Kagoj editor Shyamal Dutta, Professor Dr Golam Rahman of DU Mass Communication and Journalism Department and media person Anjan Roy were among others present at the event.

DU Mass Communication and Journalism Department Associate Professor Robaet Ferdous moderated the function.

The book ‘Je Ondhatter Nam Bhalobasa’, written by ATN Bangla presenter Lopa Hossain, was launched in the ceremony.
