DHAKA: British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W Gibson is expected to meet BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at latter’s Gulshan political office in the city on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting is scheduled to begin around 5:00pm.

BNP media wing officer Shamsusddin Didar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Khaleda Zia has been staying at her Gulshan office since January 3 when police obstructed her from coming out of the office to refrain her from joining a pre-scheduled rally on January 5, the first anniversary of 10th parliamentary election, as ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

On that day, the BNP chief called a countrywide blockade for indefinite period. Since then, over 50 people were killed in sabotages, including petrol bomb and cocktail attacks on vehicles.

Hundreds of injured are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
