RAJSHAHI: Detective Branch (DB) of police detained an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir, students’ wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, with six cocktails in Tim Ghoshpara area of the city on Tuesday.

The detainee was identified as Shamsad Bin Jubaer, 18, son of Ahmed Bin Jubaer.

Assistant commissioner Ifte Khayer Alam of Detective Branch of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Alam said, tipped-off, a team of DB nabbed the Shibir man and recovered the cocktails raiding a house in the area. DB police also picked up his parents for quizzing regarding the matter.

During preliminary interrogation, Shamsad admitted his involvement in Shibir politics. DB police also quizzed his parents.

Later, legal procedures would be taken against them, Alam added.
