BRAHMANBRIA: Police, in separate drives, detained 105 people, including six leaders-activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir at different places of the district.

The six BNP-Jamaat-Shibir men were picked up for their alleged acts of sabotage during nationwide hartal and blockade, sponsored by 20-party alliance.

On the other hand, rests are accused in different regular cases, said M Jahidul Islam, additional superintendent of police of Brahmanbaria.

Police teams conducted the drives between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, he added.

The hartal, enforced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-led 20-party alliance, is underway across the country for the fourth straight day on Wednesday, coupled with nationwide road-rail-waterway blockade.
