DHAKA: Law enforcers, in different drives in the last 24-hour, detained 16 leaders and activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir from various areas of the city.
They were detained over alleged sabotage charges during hartal and blockade enforced by BNP-led 20-party.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Center of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Masudur Rahman told banglanews that they detained them in drives conducted from 8:30am Monday to 8:30am Tuesday.
Of the detained, six were engaged with BNP politics while the rest were Jamaat-Shibir activists, he added.
The drive against anti-sabotage will continue, he added.
