DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in several drives, detained eight leaders-activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami from different places of the capital.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said, among the detainees, seven are BNP activists.
The BNP-Jamaat men were detained for their alleged involvement in ongoing sabotages during hartal and blockade enforced by BNP led 20-party alliance, Masudur Rahman added.
Police rounded up them in 24-hour drives since Sunday morning.
