GAZIPUR: Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) mayor Professor M A Mannan was shown arrested in another case filed with Sripur Thana.

Mannan’s lawyer Advocate Manjur Hossain Prince told banglanews that there were three cases filed against him during his arrest.

Of those, Mannan got bail release in two cases, he added.

However, currently he is in the jail in a case after completion of a two-day remand in another case.

Recently, Sripur Thana police has shown him arrested in an arson attack case, the fourth one, against him.

On the evening of February 11, Detective Branch of police detained GCC Mayor Abdul Mannan, also advisor to BNP chairperson, from his Baridhara residence in the city in the third case filed with Joydevpur Thana.

On the next day, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Gazipur Manwara Begum placed Professor MA Mannan on a two-day remand in the case after police produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
