BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and his wife Afroza Abbas, president of Bangladesh Nationalist Party's women wing, tested positive for coronavirus.

BNP chairperson's press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the information to Banglanews on Wednesday.

He said the leader and his wife were feeling ill for few days. They gave their sample on Tuesday and the results came back positive. 

Currently, the couple are in isolation at their residence on the advice of physician, he added.

Mirza Abbas and his wife Afroza Abbas sought blessings from the countrymen for quick recovery.
