BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was admitted to hospital again on Tuesday due to cardiac issues.

Rizvi's personal physician cardiologist Dr Manwarul Qadir Bitu said the BNP leader was admitted to Labaid hospital in Dhaka around 11:30 am for further treatment.

Doctors already performed Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) test on Rizvi for precise diagnosis of his heart condition. The next course of treatment will be decided after forming a medical board headed by Prof Dr Sohrabuzzaman, Bitu said.

Earlier on October 13, Rizvi was admitted to Labaid hospital after suffering a heart attack. On October 15, an angiogram test was performed on him and the result showed blockage in one of the arteries leading to his heart. 

A seven-member medical board provided treatment to Rizivi for nearly two weeks and he was discharged from the hospital on October 28.
