Fazlul Haque Montu, president of Bangladesh Jatiya Sramik League, passed away at a hospital in Dhaka on Friday morning. He was 71.

Montu, a freedom fighter, breathed his last around 4:00 am in the hospital while undergoing treatment.

The leader of Sramik League, the labour wing of Bangladesh Awami League, left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and General Secretary Obaidul Quader have expressed deep grief at the death of freedom fighter Fazlul Haque Montu.

Besides, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and State Minister for Culture KM Khalid have expressed deep shock.
