Ruling Awami League started selling nomination forms for the third phase elections to 64 municipalities across the country from Sunday.

“Nomination forms will be distributed from Sunday to Thursday at Awami League President Shiekh Hasina’s political office at Dhanmondi. The forms will be available from 11:00 am to 5:00pm,” said a party release, signed by its office secretary Biplob Barua.

Nomination seekers were asked to collect the forms within the specified time. Moreover, aspirants must maintain health guidelines while collecting the forms from the party office, the release added.        

Earlier on December 14, the Election Commission announced the poll schedule of third phase elections to 64 municipalities of different districts by setting the voting day on January 30.

The deadline for the submission of nomination papers is December 31, while the date for scrutiny of nomination papers is January 3 and the last date for the withdrawal of candidature is January 30.
