A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted ad-interim bail to Irfan Salim, son of Dhaka-7 lawmaker and Awami League leader Haji Salim, in two cases filed under the narcotics control and arms acts.

Additional District Magistrate of Dhaka Bhaskar Debnath Bappi passed the order following appeals filed by Erfan's lawyer Sri Pran Nath.

Earlier on October 28, a mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed cases during a drive in Irfan's residence in Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka. 

RAB conducted the raid days after a navy officer accused Irfan of assaulting him after Irfan's SUV hit the official's motorcycle in Dhaka's Kalabagan area.

Meanwhile, Chawkbazar police, in their final report yesterday, said they did not find enough evidence to prove the charges against Irfan Salim in the two cases.

Police will submit the final report before the Chief Metropolitan Court today.
