A Dhaka court on Thursday set February 8 for the submission of probe report in a rape case filed against six people, including former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara passed the order as the concerned investigation officer failed to submit the report today.

On September 20, 2020, a female student of DU filed the case against Nur and five others with Lalbagh police station.

The other accused are- Hasan Al Mamun, Nazmul Hasan Sohagh, Md Saiful Islam, Md Nazmul Huda, and Abdullah Hil Baki.

All of the accused in the cases are members and leaders of Bangladesh Students’ Rights Council and are current and former students of Dhaka University.

According to the case statement, the rape incident took place on January 3, 2020, when the prime accused Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the student body, allegedly raped the victim while others assisted the crime.

Of the accused, Nazmul Hasan Sohagh, Md Saiful Islam, and Md Nazmul Huda were arrested in the case and sent to jail.
